Michelle Garwood is a life-long "Sandhiller" from the Valentine area, excluding ten years spent in Lincoln, NE, where she attended UNL, worked at the State 4-H Office, and taught at Lincoln Public Schools. After moving back home to Valentine, she worked as a teacher, outdoor educator, and a UNL Extension 4-H Educator.

Michelle is excited to now be serving UNL state-wide through the Buy Fresh, Buy Local Coordinator position. Coming from a small farm/ranch background, Michelle recognizes the importance of local foods not only for the health of Nebraskans, but the financial future of family-owned operations. Michelle has three children and her husband manages the family farm/ranch.
