Nebraska Food Cooperative is an online, year round farmers market and local food distribution service for Nebraskans. Since 2006 they have provided an easy way to buy meat, cheese, eggs, produce, fruits, bread and sweets from small Nebraska farms, ranches and bakeries. Online shoppers can buy items during the monthly ordering cycle, their selections are then delivered to a nearby pick-up location. Shoppers retrieve their orders at the selected pick-up location. Nebraska Food Coop has over 20 pick-up locations across the state, from Omaha to Sidney.

The Nebraska Food Cooperative is important to the state of Nebraska. They provide a marketplace for hard working producers, and an easy, convenient way for shoppers across the state to nourish themselves with Nebraska food! They have been members of Buy Fresh Buy Local Nebraska since the beginning and they love this partnership because of the shared vision we have for a healthy, robust food system!

Member-owned cooperative

Nebraska Food Cooperative is a membership-based cooperative organization operated by a board of directors. Members of the co-op are shoppers, farmers and ranchers. Folks with voting memberships are able to have a say in the operation of the cooperative and guide its direction. Shoppers do not need to be a co-op member to place an order online! First time ordering is free of charge (you still buy the food!), and you can always order as a ‘visitor’.  A $6 charge will be added to each ‘visitor’ order. For more information about membership head to their website – check out the FAQ Section.

There are currently four membership types:

-        Voting member: Membership cost is $100 for the first year + $20/year thereafter

-        Non-voting member: Membership cost is $40.00 per year

-        Visitor:For infrequent orders, pay only $6.00 per order

-        Free Trial: Order once for free (you still pay for the food)
